*2024 Clinic Schedule Full*

Want To Host A Clinic?

These Are The Requirements To Host A Clinic...

  • Motels within 15 miles of the arena.
  • Stalls or pens for all of the participant horses.
  • The riders / participants: Since you can register up to 24 riders, they will need to be split into 2 groups with up to 12 riders in each group (You can have less the 24 if you want, but no more than 24 riders total). For an example of a typical schedule with groups, see down at the bottom of the page.
  • The arena must be completely covered and large enough to easily accommodate 12 horses at a time.
  • 30 amp “RV style” plug is greatly preferred, but not a deal breaker
(County fairgrounds are typically a good option).
  • The facility must be semi friendly.
  • As the host, it will be your responsibility to work with the facility if they need to be additionally insured. There are reasonable Horse Event Insurance policies where you can insure a single event. Since we are not legally contracting with the facility, our policy will not allow Carson James Horsemanship to add the facility as additionally insured.
  • Send an email to clinics@carsonjameshorsemanship.com with the location you would like to hold a clinic, pictures of the facility you have in mind, and the date you are interested in.
  • In order to confirm and hold the dates for the clinic, the deposit must be paid. We will hold the dates for one month out of courtesy, but after that, it's first come first serve until we receive the deposit.
  • After your clinic dates are confirmed, you are welcome to use pictures and info from our public social media pages to advertise your clinic. Good avenues to consider are local riding clubs, feed stores, local equine Facebook pages, etc. We will make several posts about the clinics across all our CarsonJames social media platforms and send an email to everyone on our email list who lives within driving distance of each clinic.
  • The email will serve as an application. After it is reviewed, we will contact you via email to move onto the next step of finalization.
Prices:
  • 2-Day Clinic: $4,000 (covers up to 10 riders)

    → Each additional rider: +$300

    → Maximum of 24 participants
  •  3-Day Clinic: $5,000 (covers up to 10 riders)

    → Each additional rider: +$300

    → Maximum of 24 participants

  • A $1,000 deposit is required to hold your dates for a clinic
  • We also require that the host of the clinic sign our waivers
  • Example of ticket price:
→ Typical 2 day clinic example with 24 participants at $600 per ticket: Our fee would be $8,200 , which leaves the host $6,200 for your expenses and compensation.
→ Typical 3 day clinic example with 24 participants at $700 per ticket:  Our fee would be $9,200, which leaves the host $7,600 for your expenses and compensation.

  •  Rates and/or “minimum rider requirements” above may be adjusted to accommodate special situations . For example: sometimes we fly to do clinics if the host isn’t able to secure a date that lines up with our typical summer driving run.

  • If we are within 15 days of your clinic date and you have not acquired enough riders to meet our fees (rare but has happened a few times) simply contact us to discuss options moving forward. Each clinic is unique, so options will be determined on case by case basis.

Participants / Riders:

  • Insurance regulations require participants to be at least 13 years of age.
  • In order to participate in the clinic, each rider has to sign a Carson James Horsemanship waiver. The waivers they will need to sign can be found on the home page. Minors will need to sign the "Minor Waiver" on the "Participant" page.
  • As you get participants, just send them to that page to print out their waivers.
  • On the morning of the first day of the clinic, we will collect their waivers, and give each participant an arm band. If you have time, you can also gather the completed waivers as participants arrive.
  • IF YOU HAVE TWO GROUPS OF RIDERS, IT IS THE HOST'S RESPONSIBILITY TO POST THE GROUPS AT THE ARENA BY 6pm THE DAY BEFORE THE CLINIC. Include instructions that participants should arrive at the arena on Day 1 with their horse saddled and haltered and also have the horse's headgear with them.
Clinic Schedule Times:

  • As the host, you have the option of picking the start and end time of each clinic day as long as it is between 8AM - 5PM for a 2-Day. For a 3-Day clinic, Sunday is 8AM - 2PM (no lunch break).
  • Example of a general clinic schedule with 2 groups:

1st Day:

Group 1: Start at 8:00 AM
End at 10:00 AM

Group 2: Start at 10:00 AM
End at 12:00 PM

- Lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM -

Group 1: Start back at 1:00 PM
End at 3:00 PM

Group 2: Start at 3:00 PM
End at 5:00 PM

*2nd day will be the same*

*Day 3 (if applicable) will start at 8AM and go till 2PM (no lunch break)*

These times are approximate. Carson will shorten lunch breaks and extend other sessions if the teaching points are not finished when a break is called for.

Once again, if you are interested in hosting a clinic for Carson James Horsemanship, please send an email with the location you would like to hold a clinic, pictures of the facility you have in mind, and the date you are interested in.

The email will serve as an application. After it is reviewed, we will contact you via email to move onto the next step of finalization.

Thanks! We look forward to working with you!
